Recently iphone series rear cameras have been rising in price, especially on iphone 8+, it has been risen by more than $5 in 2 weeks. It was crazy. The shortage of camera stock in Chinese after-market cause ranges of cameras rising in price. Same as original screens stock’s situation on x & xr series as well. We are predicting the price will goes back down in near days in the market.
Today we would like to discuss a bit regarding camera issues. To fix a cameras is much cost-effective than to buy a new cameras on iphone 8 and upper models in general.
(In order to make this whole article easier to understand, let us call them blu-ray heads as this photo shows)
Common issues on rear cameras:
- Marks/ spots
- Shaking
- Blurry
- Won’t focus
- Too much dust / debris to remove
- Broken camera modeles
Generally speaking to fix rear cameras, repair equipment is simple. We really don’t need any advanced or high technology machine to finish this job, but we do need well-experienced techs team to handle it. An experienced team + a welding station + a few cotton swabs + some liquid cleaner .
Marks will re-apprear if its cleaned by some uninitiated techs. That result causes a bad repair succeful rate though marks cleaned process is relatively monotonic
For marks or spots normally it needs to be cleaned inside the camera module, this process is relatively monotonic. Repair success rate on this result is pretty high for an experienced tech.
Shaking issue will be good repair result too.
Besides that you must have noticed the issue such as blurry & can’t focus, you will find these are common issues too when bought batches used stock from public or suppliers.
Let me show you some photos as below.
Judging from cameras aperture (on blue light coating), if its extremely clean and new, normally it should be without any blu-ray head issue.
On blurry issues, worn blu-ray heads, can't focus issues , normally it needs to be replaced by a new blu-ray heads (a new aperture) to get functional recovery.
The photos as below are the blu-ray heads replaced *before and afte* by our techs.
At the market on iPhone rear cameras now, there are qualities divied to:
- Int In Sealed Box quality.(should be very careful to those batches, very few stocks, some stocks might be written datas onto chips)
- Pulled original Grade A+ ( NEVER BEEN CLEANED OR FIXED )
- Grade A with marks cleaned
- Grade A with flex replaced.
